Master Package
Includes
PICTURE PEAK
130 minutes
RED ROCK
105 minutes
SALT WASH WINTER
124 minutes
The Master Package includes three full length demonstrations. He has chosen three distinctly different subjects in an effort to highlight the differences and similarities in the way natural light affects his chosen subject.
In Picture Peak Matt will discuss his thoughts on analyzing his subject through an application of the fundamentals in an effort to come up with a better understanding of his subject. This will help him establish a solid design as well as a strategy for constructing the painting. He will apply this to a high mountain scene while discussing the importance of perspective, massing, color harmony, character of medium and the importance of not being a slave to your reference.
In Red Rock he will show you how to achieve the effect of cool shadows on a warm subject and how to maintain a harmonious, believable transition as these warm colors recede into the distance. t's absolutely important to understand this in order to capture a believable rendering of natural light along with a strong sense of atmospheric perspective.
In Salt Wash Winter he will discuss the beauty of natural light on a highly reflective element such as snow. Unlike sand or rocks, the ice crystals in snow reflect light rather than absorb it, thus creating an interesting set of rules. He will also cover a number of key points to help capture this effect, and will point out special areas to highlight.
This complete package will provide you with the help and confidence needed to paint landscapes with natural light and complexities. These videos will inspire every artist no matter what your skill level.
